Stashed Wins The King’s Award for Enterprise

Stashed Wins The King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation at the Heart of What We Do

We’re beyond proud to share that Stashed Products has been awarded The King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation — one of the highest official honours a UK business can receive. This recognition marks a pivotal moment in our journey, and we’re still pinching ourselves.

Our founder, Elliot, had the privilege of attending a ceremony at Windsor Castle, where he met His Majesty The King and Princess Anne. Reflecting on the day, Elliot said:

“It was an extraordinary and humbling experience to visit Windsor Castle and meet His Majesty The King and Her Royal Highness Princess Anne.

Receiving The King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation is a significant milestone for Stashed and a testament to the dedication and creativity of our entire team. It reflects the culmination of years of hard work and our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and engineering.

This recognition places our product and vision on a global platform and reinforces our belief in the importance of innovation at the core of everything we do.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to John Davies for his invaluable support throughout the application process and beyond.”

What the King’s Award Means for Us

The King’s Award for Enterprise is no small feat. It's a rigorous and detailed application process that digs deep into every aspect of a business, from our intellectual property to our trade practices. Massive thanks to John Davies, who believed in us and put us forward for the award.

We’re especially honoured to have won in the Innovation category, widely regarded as the toughest to secure, especially compared to the more common Export award. We were one of very few in the UK, and possibly the only one in Wales, to receive it for Innovation this year.

For a design- and engineering-led company like ours, this is an important acknowledgment of what we do best: creating unique, impactful, and original products that stand out. It’s proof that our ideas and technologies aren't just good, they’re world-class.

Why It Matters

  • We can now use the official King’s Award emblem on our products for the next 5 years, a powerful symbol of excellence and credibility.

  • It validates our intellectual property and R&D investment, giving us confidence and momentum to keep innovating.

  • It helps us open doors, for partnerships, networks, and opportunities that may have been out of reach before.

  • It proves that we don’t just follow industry trends, we lead. We’re not just a product company; we’re a company that invents.

This award is not just a milestone, it’s a launchpad. We're more driven than ever to continue building cutting-edge solutions and pushing boundaries in everything we do.

To our team, our partners, and our supporters, thank you. This is just the beginning.

The Story Behind Stashed Products

The Story Behind Stashed Products
The Story Behind Stashed ProductsHow a garage problem became a global bike storage brand Every brand starts with a moment. Ours began in a cluttered garage in Wales. The frustration that sparked an idea Stashed Products was born from the same ritual many cyclists know well. Roll the bike in after a ride, prop it somewhere, shuffle things around, step over wheels and handlebars, then repeat it all again the next day. Our founder, Elliot Tanner, is an engineer and lifelong cyclist. He looked at the chaos and saw something that didn’t make sense. Why do the bikes we care most about end up shoved in corners or hanging awkwardly from hooks that scrape paint or kink cables. Why is proper bike storage still an afterthought in an industry obsessed with engineering perfection. If you can obsess over geometry, carbon layup and suspension feel, why not obsess over the space they live in. From sketch to prototype Elliot started sketching ideas. Systems. Mechanisms. Components that could adapt to any garage or bike room. He wanted storage that could evolve as your stable of bikes evolved. One key insight shaped everything:Storage should move around the bikes. Not the other way around. The earliest prototypes were built late at night in a small workshop. Bits of aluminium extrusion, printed plastic components, bearings, hooks. The first breakthrough was the rotating hook. Then came the smooth sliding rail. Then a fully modular system that could sit on ceilings, walls, angled rafters and eventually on a freestanding frame. Every detail mattered: No bike should rub against the next one One hand operation should be effortless Long life span over landfill A system that grows and transforms rather than being replaced Protecting the idea As the system evolved, so did the weight of it.Elliot knew he had created something completely new. Something that deserved protection. That led to patents. Engineering partnerships. The IP wasn’t an afterthought. It became the backbone, giving Stashed the confidence to refine and scale while keeping the design language consistent and protected. The first launch In 2021 the SpaceRail launched. A ceiling rail with hooks that rotate and slide smoothly. The response was instant. Early adopters came from around the world. Cyclists who wanted a better space not just a storage hook. The SpaceRail became a talking point. People shared photos of their garages with pride. The idea of a dream bike space was born. From there everything accelerated. Retailers requested display systems Commercial fleets adopted the rails Pro riders and ambassadors started using them in workshops and training spaces Press coverage followed Then came the Dragons Den appearance on national television No one expected a bike storage brand to become a design and lifestyle brand. But that is exactly what happened. More than storage. Space. Stashed keeps expanding the ecosystem with products like Launch Pads, LodeStar modular grid walls, Freestand systems and new accessories that elevate how the room feels and works. The idea is simple. When your environment is organised you ride more. It is not bike storage. It is making space for your life. Built in Wales. Used worldwide. Every rail is assembled by hand in our Welsh workshop. Our team of engineers build, test and refine every product until it passes a level of scrutiny usually reserved for components that go on the bike, not around it. The numbers speak for themselves: Thousands of systems installed globally Setups in homes, garages, bike shops, hotels, bike parks and pro team facilities Winner of The Kings Award for Enterprise for Innovation Where we go next The ambition has always been bigger than storage. Stashed is building a world around organised space and the psychology of a clear head. When your bikes have a place, your mind does too. We are developing new systems, modular accessories and premium bike room solutions that turn any space into a place you want to spend time in. From a cluttered garage. To a global movement. Life stored better. More riding. Less faff.

Introducing the Freestand Wheel Kit

Introducing the Freestand Wheel Kit
When we released the Freestand system, the goal was simple. Create a completely modular bike storage frame that doesn’t need drilling, anchors, or a permanent place to live. The system was designed to move bikes off the walls and out of corners, into something that could evolve with the rider and the space around them. Pretty quickly after launching Freestand, we noticed something. People wanted mobility. Larger workshops, velodromes, and commercial fleets were shifting bikes around constantly. They wanted to push an entire line of bikes across the room in one motion. Not unhook. Not carry. Not shuttle bikes back and forth. Just move the lot. The Freestand WheelKit was one of the very first ideas that followed the original Freestand frame concept. It always felt like the logical next step. Why we built it During prototype testing, we worked with velodromes and commercial workshop environments. They used Freestand frames loaded with multiple bikes, then moved them around like rolling bike displays. Watching an entire fleet glide smoothly across polished flooring confirmed that this was the right direction. With that came a new challenge. When bikes sway or move on a rolling structure, you need to add protection where the bikes might make contact. That became the catalyst for our Launch Pad product. Both products now work together to keep bikes protected while rolling as a single unit. What’s included and why it matters Handlebar Width: 700 millimeters Diameter: 22 millimeters to fit standard MTB grips Height is adjustable and locks securely Includes comfortable MTB style lock grips The handlebar gives you stable steering and allows the user to guide a fully loaded system smoothly and confidently. It turns your bike storage into a highly maneuverable trolley. Castors High strength castors rated for a combined total load of 250 kilograms Two castors lock so the system stays put when needed Soft rubber wheels that are non marking Direct M10 thread switchover from the Freestand feet These wheels turn the Freestand into a mobile bike stand. No tools. No compromise. Just swap the feet for the castors and your Freestand becomes a rolling unit. Shock Absorbing Tape Three meters of 50 millimeter wide cushioning tape included This tape applies to the inside of the Freestand uprights to give extra protection and reduce contact between the frame and the bikes when rolling. Trolley Stopper Simple slide and turn wing bolt mechanism that fixes a SpaceRail trolley in place This started as a solution for SpaceRails used inside vans and boats. It stops the trolley from sliding freely in transit. Once we had the WheelKit prototypes, it became even more useful. Locking the trolley means no movement when rolling across flooring or positioning bikes in a tight area. Who is it for Velodromes and commercial fleet managers Riders with multiple bikes stored in a garage or workshop Anyone who needs to regularly move sets of bikes for cleaning, maintenance, or photography shoots The Freestand WheelKit is suitable for both the 4 bike and 8 bike Freestand systems. The payoff You can load bikes once, then move your entire setup anywhere in the room. No heavy lifting. No juggling handlebars. No accidental frame knocks. Just smooth movement. From an R and D point of view, the Freestand WheelKit represents what Stashed does best. We spot the friction. We find the simple solution. Then we build it to last. If mobility and modularity are part of your garage setup, this upgrade makes your Freestand unstoppable. PeteR and D Manager, Stashed Products
