Chris Hall on transforming his bike space with SpaceRail
For Chris Hall (@chrishallrides), the challenge wasn’t a lack of bikes. It was a lack of space.
Like many pro riders, Chris had a dedicated bike room, but it was small and already working hard. His previous setup relied on simple wall hooks which, while functional, took over the entire wall and made day-to-day access frustrating. Reaching bikes further from the door was awkward, and flexibility was limited.
“I wanted to push everything down to one end of the room,” Chris explains. “To make as much space as I possibly could, but still be able to access everything easily.”
That balance between maximising space and maintaining usability is exactly what led Chris to SpaceRail.

Slide, don’t struggle
With SpaceRail installed, the entire dynamic of the room changed. Instead of bikes being fixed in place, Chris can now slide them along the rail to access exactly what he needs, when he needs it.
“The big thing for me is being able to push the bikes further up together,” he says. “I couldn’t do that with the hooked system I had before.”
That flexibility matters. Chris regularly switches between bikes, sometimes riding one for a while before moving on to another. SpaceRail allows him to adapt the space around his riding habits rather than the other way around.
“It’s just so much easier to take one bike off, slide the others along, and get on with it.”

The unexpected bonus
One of the quieter wins came after installation. Because SpaceRail is wall mounted, Chris discovered he could store his spare wheels above the bikes.
“That was a bit of a secret added bonus,” he laughs. “Having my wheels stored on top has been really useful.”
It’s a small detail, but one that adds up. More usable wall space, better organisation, and a bike room that finally feels calm and considered rather than cramped.

Professional installation, zero stress
Knowing what you want is one thing. Installing it confidently is another.
Chris was clear that DIY wasn’t the route for him. Instead, he chose to have his SpaceRail professionally installed via AirTasker.
“For me, using AirTasker was a really good way to get a professional to install something that I don’t trust myself to do properly,” he says. “I’m not great at DIY, so being able to get someone else to help was super helpful.”
The experience was seamless. Tom, the installer, handled everything with care and precision.
“He did a great job, and he was just a really nice guy as well. The whole thing was super simple and worked really well.”

A space that works with you
For Chris, the transformation isn’t just about storage. It’s about freedom.
SpaceRail has given him a bike room that adapts to how he rides, how often he switches bikes, and how he wants the space to feel. Bikes slide. Space opens up. Access becomes effortless.
“I just wanted that flexibility, really,” he says. “And this gives me exactly that.”
Sometimes the biggest upgrade isn’t a new bike. It’s the space around it.
